摘要: Abstract. The ISUAL payload onboard the FORMOSAT-2 satellite has often observed airglow bright spots around midnight at equatorial latitudes. Such features had been suggested as signature of thermospheric temperature maximum (MTM) effect, which was associated with and meridional neutral winds. This study investigates influence neutral and meridional wind on volume emission rates 630.0 nm nightglow. We utilize SAMI2 model to simulate charged neutral species 630.0 nm nightglow layer under different temperatures without effect wind. results show that is more efficient than variation in affecting rates. For example, based our estimation, it would require a change 145 K produce in the integrated rate by 9.8 km-photons cm −3 s −1 , while it only needs velocity 1.85 m to cause same integrated rate. However, emission rate local maximum its temperature. Two kinds tendencies can be seen regarding that corresponds to the turning point, named ( Tt) in this study: firstly, Tt decreases for the same altitude; secondly, approximately rate, increases altitude.
