摘要: The invasive fire ant Solenopsis invicta is medically important because its venom highly potent. However, almost nothing known about proteins obtaining even milligram-amounts of these has been prohibitively challenging. We present a simple and fast method whole compounds from large quantities ants. For this, we separate the ants are nest soil, immerse them in dual-phase mixture apolar organic solvent water, evaporate each phase separate. remaining extract aqueous largely made up proteins. confirmed this by using 2D gel electrophoresis while also demonstrating that our new approach yields same obtained other authors less efficient traditional methods.
