Surface characterization and corrosion resistance of fluoferrite conversion coating on carbon steel

摘要: Abstract Fluoferrite conversion coating has been studied for the corrosion protection of carbon steel by using solution mainly containing potassium fluoride, ammonium persulfate and other compositions. As a summary, this paper gave detailed properties prepared with hydrogen peroxide as best composition. The morphology, composition resistance were investigated scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), probe micro-analyzer (EPMA) linear polarization, electrochemical impedance (EIS) salt spray test (SST). results showed that coating, consisting K 3 FeF 6 , exhibited good (up to 72 h time) due its close-packed particle structure great thickness (73 μm).
