摘要: Despite their close proximity, the complex interplay between two Magellanic Clouds, Milky Way, and resulting tidal features, is still poorly understood. Recent studies have shown that Large Cloud (LMC) has a very extended disk strikingly perturbed in its outskirts. We search for recent star formation far outskirts of LMC, out to ~30 degrees from center. collected intermediate-resolution spectra thirty-one young candidates periphery LMC measured radial velocity, stellar parameters, distance age. Our measurements confirm membership six targets, which velocity values match well those Cloud. These objects are all (10-50 Myr), main-sequence stars projected 7 13 center parent galaxy. compare velocities our with model, find low moderate differences model predictions, indicating they were formed situ. study demonstrates occurred where thus only old known. The spatial configuration these newly-formed appears ring-like radius 12 kpc, displacement 2.6 kpc LMC's This structure, if real, would be suggestive star-formation episode triggered by an off-center collision Small disk.
