摘要: The mitochondrial members of the highly conserved AAA family, Yta10p and Yta12p, constitute a membrane-embedded complex about 850 kDa. As an ATP dependent metallopeptidase (AAA protease), YTA10-12 mediates degradation nonassembled inner membrane proteins. In contrast to nucleotide-dependent formation substrate binding, proteolysis bound polypeptides depends on hydrolysis activity both subunits. Independent its proteolytic function, chaperone-like is required for assembly membrane-associated synthase. We propose that activities in mediate processes protein complexes thereby exert key functions maintenance integrity.
