摘要: Personalised genetic health promotion may soon be available and affordable. To explore its likely public acceptance in Australia, a community sample (N = 800) provided quantitative qualitative responses to vignette scenario about hypothetical expert who could test their genes and, based on this profile, provide personalised advice. Three theoretical models were tested explicate the process by which cognitive–affective factors of risk beliefs, benefit trust judgements influenced behavioural intentions. Results supported an model, where general beliefs risks benefits medical advances had indirect influences, while specific direct influence, Subjective reasons for intentions included moral concerns, fear, trust, mistrust desire maintain at any cost. The advent heighten need specialised psychologists.
