Vibratory stress relief - an investigation of the torsional stress effect in welded shafts

摘要: In this study the effect of torsional vibration on residual stresses was investigated. Three types shaft specimen were processed, namely (a) a homogeneous shaft, (b) welded circumferential line and (c) spot-welded shaft. The first two showed some redistribution in under applied loads. On shafts found to decrease significantly at very low level induced stress.
