摘要: Objective The aim of this study was to determine the developmental risk pathway depression by 16 years in offspring postnatally depressed mothers. Method This a prospective longitudinal and nondepressed mothers; child family assessments were made from infancy years. A total 702 mothers screened, probable cases interviewed. In all, 58 (95% identified cases) 42 controls recruited. 93% assessed through 16-year follow-up. main outcome lifetime clinical (major episode dysthymia) years, via interview at 8, 13, It analysed relation postnatal depression, repeated measures vulnerability (insecure infant attachment lower childhood resilience), adversity. Results Children index more likely than experience (41.5% versus 12.5%; odds ratio=4.99; 95% confidence interval=1.68–14.70). Lower resilience predicted adolescent insecure influenced (model R 2 = 31%). Family adversity added further (expanded model 43%). Conclusions Offspring are increased for age. may be partially explained within established early exposure Routine screening parenting support mothers, might reduce risks adolescence.
