摘要: The interactions between cellulose and hemicellulose in the cell walls are important industrial application of (natural) fibres. We strive to modify these ( i ) by interfering with biosynthesis (ii) direct interference through use carbohydrate binding modules CBMs ). Additionally, we establish a link putative expansin CBM wall/plant modification. investigation generates structural changes leading altered cellular, organ whole plant morphology. results demonstrate that gain control over inherent fibre characteristics for paper textile applications is possible future. This can complement current enzymes chemicals surface modification fibre. approaches described thesis hold great promise modifying properties inside plant. technology be transferred economically species, e.g. flax, hemp poplar.
