摘要: Cultural awareness, when applied to Intelligent Learning Environments (ILEs), contours the overall appearance, behaviour, and content used in these systems through use of culturally-relevant student data information. In most cases, adaptations are system-initiated with little no consideration given student-initiated control over extent cultural-awareness being used. This paper examines some issues relevant challenges development ICON (Instructional cONtextualisation) system. The explores computational approaches for modelling diversity students within subcultures, necessary semantic formalisms representing reasoning about cultural backgrounds at an appropriate level granularity ILEs. investigates how dynamic adaptation educational can be achieved ILEs, effects variations language formality contextualisation on preferences different types content. Evaluations revealed preliminary insight into quantifiable thresholds which perception specific culturally-contextualised vary. findings further support notion put forth that should featured ILEs aiming cater diverse groups students.
