摘要: Whitings, floating patches of calcium carbonate mud, have been found in both shallow banks and freshwater environments around the world. Although these events studied for many decades, much their characteristics remain unknown. Recent sightings whitings near Ten Thousand Islands, Florida suggest a phenomenon that has not previously documented this area. Using medium-resolution (250-m) data collected by Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) from December 2010 to November 2013, we whiting spatial temporal patterns region. Classification rules were first established, then applied all 474 cloud-free sun glint-free MODIS images. Whiting occurrences between 25°46′N 25°20′N less than 40 km southwest coastline. Over 3-year period, occurrence peaked spring autumn reached minimum during winter summer months. Further field laboratory researc...
