摘要: Activated carbon fibre (ACF) is a nanoporous material which useful for various important applications such as safe biogas and natural gas storage well heavy/precious metals removal recovery. It commonly produced from synthetic fibres rayon, polyacrylnitrile pitch mainly derived petroleum products, are less environmental friendly. Besides, cost of ACF production high due to the burnt off percentage expensive raw materials. As an alternative, oil palm empty fruit bunch was used preparation. Thermogravimetric analysis carried out with two different gases, i.e. nitrogen oxygen in order observe pyrolysis combustion behaviours gases. Carbonisation temperatures were then identified peaks derivative thermogravimetry results. Different carbonisation (85–200 °C) chosen carbonise EFB effect on characteristics, surface area, pore size distribution volume produced. Good characteristics area up 2,740 m2/g prepared observed, suggesting excellent candidate replace production. The discussion relationship between thermal nanopores also included this study.
