Effects of sildenafil citrate on defibrillation efficacy.

摘要: Effects of Sildenafil Citrate on Defibrillation Efficacy, introduction: Although fatal arrhythmia and sudden death have been reported in patients taking sildenafil citrate, its effect defibrillation efficacy has not investigated. The aim this study was to test the hypothesis that citrate increases shock strength required successfully defibrillate during ventricular fibrillation (VF). Methods Results: A total 26 pigs (20-25 kg) were randomly assigned into three groups. In each group, threshold (DFT) determined at beginning using a three-reversal up/down protocol. Each (RV-SVC, biphasic) delivered after 10 seconds VF. Group 1 (n = 10) received 50 mg group 2 100 intravenously rate mL/minute for minutes. 3 6) mL saline same as 1. DFT again drug (drug-DFT) (saline-DFT) administration. For 100-mg infusion, (483 ± 39 V, 18 J) significantly (P < 0.003 P 0.01, respectively) higher than control-DFT (407 123 13 7 J).
