摘要: Traditional conservation curricula and training typically emphasizes only one part of systematic decision making (i.e., the science), at expense preparing practitioners with critical skills in values-setting, working makers stakeholders, effective problem framing. In this article we describe how application science is relevant to problems suggest current future can be trained better makers. Though decision-analytic approaches vary considerably, they all involve: (1) properly formulating problem; (2) specifying feasible alternative actions; (3) selecting criteria for evaluating potential outcomes. Two are available providing science, each serving different needs. Formal education useful simple, well-defined that allow demonstrations structure, axioms general characteristics a approach. contrast, practical offer complex, realistic requiring more careful structuring analysis than those used formal purposes. Ultimately, kinds degree necessary depend on role play decision-making process. Those attempting facilitate processes will need advanced both technical aspects facilitation techniques, as well opportunities apprentice under analysts/consultants. Our primary goal should an attempt ingrain discipline applying clarity thought decisions.
