摘要: Antisense approaches are increasingly being used as a tool to elucidate biological mechanisms. The use of antisense therapeutic strategy has been hampered by number problems, including stability, delivery and non-specific toxicity. In this paper the patent literature from 1997 - 2000 is reviewed, in which claimed for treatment neurological disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, stroke, multiple sclerosis, trauma brain tumour. Although numerous claims made, most cases there very little supporting data, particularly with respect disease models. While strategies offer great promise terms potential target pathogenic genes selective fashion, considerable work remains demonstrate efficacy vivo ensure adequate without may also prove useful imaging gene expression.
