摘要: This paper investigates the thermal monitoring performance potential of fibre-optic (FO) sensors embedded into structure random wound coils. The implications FO sensor packaging and installation procedure on are assessed a prototype coil in series laboratory experiments controlled ambient. It is shown that, while embedding alters its operational characteristics to an extent, resulting in-situ hot spot provides reliable output when benchmarked with conventional thermocouple measurements.
