摘要: Abstract We have developed and refined a system for quantitative computer analysis of two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoretograms. The system, named Elsie 4, is based on one described by Vo et al. ( Anal. Biochem. 112 , 258 (1981)) . It highly automated. 4 can find, measure the intensity of, almost any spot resolvable gels, including spots visible only as shoulders off larger so close together that there no “valley” between them. automatically match patterns different potentially without need user to provide landmark matches. matches paired gels let us follow synthesis through set gels. Information about group matched be obtained referring in group. There generally standard or reference gel. Data two experiments combined compared matching experiment with other. are ways find possible mismatches sets Scans results shown an image displayer. programs use function libraries; this helps ensure consistency increase portability. functions linked many ways; lets users build custom specific experiments.
