摘要: Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare disease that characterized by large amount of mucinous ascites with peritoneal and omental implants. The etiology the remains unclear. Histologically, two main categories have been described: disseminated adenomucinosis (DPAM) carcinomatosis (PMCA). It commonly diagnosed incidentally at laparotomy. Most investigators agree radical surgical debulking appendectomy are cornerstone treatment, but optimal management controversial. role intraoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy has evaluated number authors. clinical outcomes vary widely between benign malignant forms different treatment modalities. We discuss pathology, origin, presentation, diagnosis, prognosis PMP.
