摘要: Abstract The mixed carbide Ti-Zr-C has been synthesized through carbothermal reduction of TiZrO4 at 2200 °C, 2300 °C, and 2400 °C. As-synthesized was subsequently aged 1400 °C to study phase separation. Microstructural investigations nano-indentation measurements were performed. It found that the synthesis temperature important for homogeneity porosity as-synthesized powder, which strongly influenced subsequent separation upon aging. occurred via discontinuous precipitation, high-angle boundaries preferred. Furthermore, characteristics precipitation in present system with a miscibility gap compared those classical precipitation. Finally, fully decomposed particles be slightly harder than unaged particles.
