摘要: The substantia nigra and subthalamic nucleus are two key structures in the midbrain that very important movement disorders, particularly those associated with parkinsonism. Using conventional magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, anatomic description of both these can be challenging. This article describes importance understanding underlying anatomy some changes pathology structures. Advances MR imaging discussed, including high-field diffusion tensor inversion-recovery susceptibility-weighted particular reference to nucleus. Understanding features nuclei needs firmly based on knowledge from postmortem studies, more work is needed this field.
