摘要: The Vietnam Era Twin Study of Aging (VETSA) is a longitudinal behavioral genetic study with primary focus on cognitive and brain aging in men. It comprises subset over 1,200 twins from the Registry. Like many other studies aging, VETSA includes different phenotypes, but there are some key features that distinguish it most studies. First, initial assessment was conducted when all participants were middle-aged. Second, age range narrow; their 50s at time recruitment. Third, an extensive demanding neurocognitive test battery designed to provide good coverage abilities avoid ceiling effects middle-aged adults. Fourth, young adult data (at average 20 years) available gauge change. These make ideal for studying heterogeneity within-individual trajectories midlife old age, early detection risk factors decline.
