摘要: The southern pine beetle, Dendroctonus frontalis Zimmerman (Coleoptera: Scolytidae), is the most destructive insect pest of forests in and southeastern United States parts Mexico Central America. Historically, efforts to control beetle have been remedial nature primarily included use insecticides salvage. In general, these methods not greatly successful, as evidenced by continuing epidemics pest. Salvage still practiced, but last decade cost government restrictions all eliminated operational forest. As a result, forest manager limited choice with which attempt deal beetle.
