摘要: Background/aims Prolonged paralytic ileus occurring in hepatectomized patients may induce hyperammonemia or bacterial translocation, which injures the remnant liver function and sometimes causes post-resection failure. We examined effectiveness of herbal medicine, Dai-kenchu-to (DKT), on postoperative serum ammonia levels with resection compared it lactulose. Methodology Patients were divided into three groups. Lactulose group (n=31), 16g lactulose was administered orally times a day from first day. DKT (n=27), 5g same fashion. Control (n=26), neither nor administered. In all groups, for days preoperatively. Results There no significant difference among groups age, gender preoperative hepatic functional values, such as ICG-R15 galactose tolerance test. also parenchymal rate, operative time amount intraoperative bleeding volume. Postoperative significantly lower than control Instances delayed flatulence occurrence diarrhea fewer group. Conclusions become more effective safe agent management resection.
