摘要: This paper discusses ongoing research at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to make computing clusters easier use. Cluster administration, setup, and use is an active area with many different components. Two systems for cluster control that have been experimented ORNL, are Managing Multiple Clusters (M3C) Control GUI (C2G). M3C uses a Java Servlet in conjunction application server handle communications between remote user the head node. C2G takes alternate approach sshd these messages. Another important issue consider mechanism used compute nodes. A new system under construction ORNL designed allow easily keep track of software loaded on has two components, node manager daemon package services back-end basically database. configurations can be stored this system. ∗Research supported by Mathematics, Information Computational Sciences Office, Office Advanced Scientific Computing Research, Science, U.
