Estimation of Milk Yield Losses From Subclinical Mastitis in Dairy Cows

摘要: Multiple regression analysis was utililised to estimate the relationship between somatic cell counts (SCC) and milk yield using data of 1687 quarter samples collected weekly from 20 cows at Dairy Unit A.U. Veterinary Faculty's Research Farm May October 1998. The findings this study supported results similar previous studies on that there is a negative SCC yield, lnSCC (natural logarithmic form) not linear. It found loss vary considerably according level SCC. losses were estimated be 0.6 kg/day/cow (2.1%) where 403,000 cells/ml, whereas these 1,097,000 1,900,000 cells/ml 3.8 (14.1%) 6.8 (23.2%) respectively. weighted average 1.53 kg/day/cow.
