Prediction of body composition by age, height, weight, and skinfold thickness in normal adults

摘要: In order to establish an easy and reliable method for estimating body composition, the lean mass (LBM) fat (FM) were measured in vivo 228 normal adults (130 women 98 men) using dual photon (153Gd) absorptiometry. addition, skinfold thickness was at two sites each subject. Multiple regression equations of LBM FM based on age, height, weight computed (r = .86 .95, SEE 2.1 2.9 kg). These correlations only slightly improved men, but not women, when results measurements included calculations. We conclude that can be estimated from with a predictive error below 3 kg.
