摘要: Publisher Summary One of the signals that initiate thirst and also antidiuretic hormone (ADH) secretion is an increase in tonicity body fluids. Detection hypertonicity has been considered a function cerebral osmoreceptors. It found blood osmolality by intravascular administration hypertonic solutions solutes—which slowly permeate into cells—stimulate ADH release, whereas systemic more diffusible solutes ineffective. The chapter discusses injection NaCl but not sucrose third ventricle goats stimulates release. Because close proximity to preoptic/hypothalamic region, it expected osmoreceptors are similarly affected solution NaCl. Thus sensors responding changed Na cerebrospinal fluid proposed for osmotic regulation water intake excretion.
