摘要: Oleaginous photosynthetic organisms such as microalgae are promising sources for biofuel production through the generation of carbon-neutral sustainable energy. However, metabolic mechanisms driving high-rate lipid in these oleaginous remain unclear, thus impeding efforts to improve productivity genetic modifications. We analyzed genome and transcriptome diatom Fistulifera solaris JPCC DA0580. Next-generation sequencing technology provided evidence an allodiploid structure, suggesting unorthodox molecular evolutionary regulatory systems reinforcing efficiencies. Although major pathways were shared with nonoleaginous diatoms, analysis revealed unique expression patterns, concomitant upregulation fatty acid/triacylglycerol biosynthesis acid degradation (β-oxidation) concert ATP production. This peculiar pattern gene may account simultaneous growth oil accumulation phenotype inspire novel based on this microalga.
