摘要: Abstract The oxidation of Cu0.7Zn0.3(111) exposed to O2 at low pressure (7.0 × 10− 7 mbar) and higher (1 mbar) both 400 K has been investigated by photoelectron spectroscopy. results evidenced a preferential Zn the surface in agreement with literature segregation surface. Moreover, systematic fitting procedure high-resolution spectra enabled us decompose 2p core-level peak into metallic oxide components order follow growth oxide. By combining these careful analysis L3M45M45 Auger transition, we formation discontinuous ZnO layer (3D islands) conditions. Measurements O 1s for two photon energies using synchrotron radiation allowed identify interface bulk components. Changes 3d level valence band during initial steps were also followed. We show that not only thermodynamics but kinetic effects have be considered describe this complex process. importance role played structural quality sample on composition, structure is evidenced.
