摘要: Erosion processes threaten the economy, environment and ecosystem of coastal areas. In addition, human action can significantly affect characteristics soil landscape shoreline. this context, pursuing environmental sustainability is paramount importance in solving degradation areas worldwide, with particular reference to design complex engineering structures. Among all measures conceived protect shoreline, environmentally friendly interventions should be supported by stakeholders tested means mathematical models, order evaluate their effectiveness protection through evaluation wave damping bedload. This study focuses on protected nourishments, as strategic aimed counteract erosion without affecting environment. Here, we develop a simplified method provide preliminary assessment efficiency submerged breakwaters reducing energy at relatively low computational cost, if compared standard 2D or full 3D models. The methodology applied Calabaia Beach, located southern Tyrrhenian Sea (Italy), area Marine Experimental Station Capo Tirone. results show that proven an essential tool assisting researchers institutions address effects nourishment protection.
