摘要: PURPOSE: To determine the effects of potent anti-inflammatory Th2 cytokines, interleukin (IL)-4, -10, and -13, on IL-8 monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP) 1 production by human retinal pigment epithelial (HRPE) cells, monocytes, HRPE cell-monocyte cocultures. METHODS: Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays were performed to MCP-1 secretion cocultures stimulated with IL-1beta or TNF-alpha, either alone, in combination IL-4, at various time points. RESULTS: IL-4 but not IL-10, enhanced constitutive TNF-alpha-induced secretion. also IL-1beta-induced IL-8. -13 reduced MCP-1, whereas IL-10 MCP-1. Overlay monocytes onto cell cultures resulted increased was inhibited only IL-10. These cytokines potentiation IL-8, TNF-alpha chemokine cocultures, had no effects. IL-13 potentiated CONCLUSIONS: -10 have complex appears be most consistently suppressive cytokine, suggesting potential therapeutic usefulness treatment ocular inflammatory proliferative diseases.
