摘要: Abstract Background Pancreatic carcinosarcomas (PCS) are rare aggressive biphasic malignancies with a poor prognosis. We aimed to improve the understanding of PCS by analyzing variables that influence mortality patients. Methods The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database was queried for cases from 1973 2016. Cases were analyzed patient demographics, tumor characteristics, surgical intervention. Kaplan-Meier Cox regression analyses applied investigate overall survival (OS) prognostic factors. Thirty-nine identified along disease demographics characteristics. majority patients had regionally invasive or metastatic disease. There significant decrease in OS increase extension. Conversely, surgery showed crude analysis, including underwent lymphadenectomy. In addition, unadjusted results decreased hazard ratios local versus distant metastasis cancer-directed no surgery. Nevertheless, adjusted revealed only predictor survival. Conclusions This population-based study provides some insight very 39 PCS. Our finding suggests considering as nonsurgical reserving solely localized combination after neoadjuvant therapy. Consequently, there is need further novel therapies this malignancy.
