Performance of conventional CSZP-based ceramic coating on oxidation of carbon–carbon composites

摘要: Low-expansion compositions of Ca1−xSrxZr4(PO4)6 [CSZP] system, synthesized by solid-state reaction method were characterized for axial and bulk thermal expansion high-temperature XRD dilatometry to obtain a suitable composition with matching behaviour carbon–carbon composite. Sinterability the powders was promoted addition 3 5 wt.% ZnO corresponding effects on properties determined. Coating most x = 0.25 applied composite normal spraying technique. The coating matured at 1100 °C continuous protective layer low porosity almost no visible interface. Oxidation studies coated uncoated composites carried out 600–900 temperature range up 6 h established that helped improve oxidation resistance elevated temperature.
