The importance of reducing sample contamination in routine monitoring of trace metals in atmospheric precipitation

摘要: Abstract At four sites in Sweden, atmospheric precipitation for trace metal analysis was collected simultaneously acid-washed collectors and only rinsed water. The results indicate that samples could be greatly contaminated if the storage bottles were not acid washed. Risk of contamination greatest Cd, Cu Zn. In some instances concentrations a factor 50 larger stored which found precipitation, washed equipment, are substantially lower than previously reported values Scandinavia. Thus, it is concluded many literature may error because proper precautions taken to avoid sample contamination.
