摘要: Abstract Ammonia has been studied as a potential energy vector and suitable fuel for Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs). The use of ammonia could guarantee high electrical efficiency, with carbon free density fuel. This study analyzes the power generation system based on SOFC fueled by NH3. Experimental tests short stack were developed using both pure diluted ammonia. demonstrated operation concept highlighted possible advantages in terms thermal equilibrium. Decomposition introduces an endothermic reaction that permits heat absorbance anode better control temperature. Based results, thermodynamic model complete was designed studied. results demonstrate is more efficient than equivalent hydrogen one, due to cooling effect internal reactions reduces ancillaries consumptions related cathode air flow.
