摘要: DNA methylation alterations are common in urothelial carcinoma, a prevalent cancer worldwide caused predominantly by chemical carcinogens. Recent studies have proposed sets of hypermethylated genes as promising diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers from urine or tissue samples, which require validation. Other revealed intriguing links between specific carcinogens tissues blood that might clarify carcinogenesis mechanisms aid prevention. Like alterations, mutations chromatin regulators frequent, underlining the importance epigenetic changes. However, relations two changes their functions remain unclear. Transcription factor with altered deserve particular interest. Elucidating functional impact is prerequisite for therapeutic targeting.
