摘要: Objective Detailed data are lacking on influenza burden in the United Kingdom (UK). The objective of this study was to estimate disease associated with influenza-like illness (ILI) stratified by age, risk and vaccination status. Methods This retrospective, cross-sectional, exploratory, observational used linked from General Practice Research Database Hospital Episode Statistics databases resource use cost ILI UK. Results Data were included 156,193 patients ≥1 general practitioner visit ILI. There 21,518 high-risk patients, whom 12,514 (58.2%) vaccinated 9,004 (41.8%) not vaccinated, 134,675 low-risk 17,482 (13.0%) 117,193 (87.0%) vaccinated. High-risk older (p 1 compared unvaccinated patients. Patients who had a reduced >1 (OR 0.82; p<0.001). individuals also lower probability ILI-related hospitalisation than or alone 0.59). In people aged ≥65 years, mortality rate 0.75). GP visits hospital admissions UK over period £27,391,142 £141,932,471, respectively. corresponding values £168,318,709 £112,534,130, respectively. Conclusions Although rates target groups have increased, many still receiving vaccination, remains substantial. Improving uptake may potential reduce burden.
