摘要: AbstractDespite a growing number of anthropological studies deaf communities, little attention has been paid to how socioeconomic and cultural factors influence the experiences concerns hearing parents hearing-impaired (DHI) children. This study draws on interviews with (and some grandparents) DHI children in Ecuador, country marked by profound inequality but also considerable recent progress poverty reduction enhanced provisions for people disabilities. Despite progress, many carers are nevertheless critical way which new measures have implemented, schooling available their child. They worried child’s vulnerability, likelihood discrimination, possibility abuse.
