摘要: Individual cancer cells in a tumor are very diverse both genetically and functionally. Moreover, many cancers, whether flourishes or dies after given treatment depends on small fraction of the tumor, for instance, stem cells, rather than bulk population. Traditionally, scientists only obtain averaged information from entire population but it is critical to develop an effective user-friendly platform capable interrogating single order understand treat disease better. This chapter reviews recent progress microfluidics-based tools cell analysis that relevant characterization, as well how nanotechnology may advance with improved signal responses. We hope this general introduction catalyze adoption these advanced single-cell approaches studies.
