摘要: The aim of the present investigation was to study whether splinting, i.e., immobilisation teeth, may interfere with rate periodontal tissue destruction that can be accomplished by ligature placement and plaque accumulation, 5, 1-year-old, beagle dogs were included in experiment. mandibular 2nd 3rd premolars 1st molar on both sides mandible extracted. 2 titanium implants installed sites 3P 1M, right quadrant mandible. 3 months later, abutment connection performed a fixed, gold splint, connecting tooth implants, inserted. non-resilient splint cemented place Day 0 4P hereby immobilized. In each dog, contralateral fourth premolar (P4) served as non-splinted control tooth. Experimental breakdown initiated placing cotton floss ligatures around neck P4 allowing animals accumulate calculus. Once every month, new placed at level receding gingival margin. experiment terminated 180. Radiographs obtained biopsies sampled. results measurements, made radiographs histological sections, disclosed splinting experimental failed prevent or retard apical downgrowth associated attachment loss. It concluded increased mobility, within limits experiment, obviously did not establish conditions which favoured an enhanced tissues dog model.
