Linking the information technology structure with organizational competitive strategy: a survey

摘要: In a study involving 52 large organizations in the computer components industry, relationship between information technology structure and organizational competitive strategy was examined. The results indicate that structure, as measured by locus of responsibilities for systems, is strongly related to strategy. For example, an organization with conservative possesses more centralized systems function than aggressive This means user departments have less control over their organization. These findings provide additional support fit concept - conformity overall context variables, including strategy, instrumental successful implementation systems.
