摘要: Abstract Young adult and aged male Fisher 344 rats underwent kainate-induced convulsive status epilepticus (SE) for 4h prior to sacrifice determine potential aging-related differences in the effect of prolonged SE on expression hippocampal voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs). Immunohistochemistry was performed sections using antibodies directed against α 1 subunit class A–D VGCCs. Compared age-matched controls, animals showed a marked loss 1A immunoreactivity (IR) CA3 hilus, which more prominent animals. 1B -IR decreased selectively stratum lucidum CA3. 1C increased neuronal somata pyramidal granule cell layers both age groups. In contrast, there decrease neuropil pyramidale portions CA1, pronounced 1D Nissl staining demonstrated mild somal dysmorphia layer CA3, apparent Fluoro-Jade B hilus These results that patterns high-threshold VGCC subunits were altered variably during associated with early degenerative changes neurons hilus.
