摘要: The South American egg parasitoid Gonatocerus sp. near tuberculifemur “Clade 1” (G. 1”) (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae) is a new association of the glassy-winged sharpshooter (GWSS), Homalodiscavitripennis (Germar) (Cicadellidae) and candidate for its biological control in California, USA. In Argentina, G. was screened laboratory (no-choice tests) field (multiple choice against eggs 32 Auchenorrhyncha host species other four potential hosts unrelated to sharpshooters. no-choice assays, it parasitized only within leafhopper tribe Proconiini. contrast, long term tests, emerged not from Proconiini but also two Cicadellini at low numbers (five wasps out 698 exposed eggs). Two interpretations arise results: (1) Host associations are restricted whereas parasitization were false positive, or (2) parasitizes some rejection negative. Both discussed. Insect motivation could be explanation negative results tests. On hand, more natural situations, selection process oviposition behavior should have been affected range would realistic. parasitism indicative non-target effect on sharpshooters
