Microstructural tailoring and its influence on oxidation resistance of carbon fiber-reinforced C-SiC matrix composites

摘要: Abstract In order to satisfy the requirements of structural and functional applications, tailoring microstructures improving oxidation resistance C/C-SiC is essential. this study, microstructure achieved by pre-treatment fiber at 1500 °C in a nitrogen atmosphere. It found that carbon fibers increases mass fraction SiC matrix composites, distribution becomes homogenous, fine-grained layer enwraps forming dense shell. Thermo-gravimetric measurements indicate microstructural treatment can significantly improve attributed high homogenous matrix.
