摘要: In order to test the possibility of producing ethanol under aerobic conditions, 4 mitochondrial mutants Saccharomyces cerevisiae lacking capacity respire were assayed for and biomass yield. As controls corresponding wild strains tested anaerobic conditions. latter case respiration was blocked by catabolite repression. The data show that respiratory deficient yield slightly less than anaerobically grown strains, but more those aerobically. Therefore, if technical reasons fermentation is necessary, use would be economically advantageous.
