Leukostasis in adult acute hyperleukocytic leukemia: a clinician's digest

摘要: Leukostasis is a poorly understood and life-threatening complication of acute hyperleukocytic leukemia. The incidence hyperleukocytosis leukostasis differs among various subtypes leukemias. While the pathophysiology not fully understood, recent research has elucidated many novel pathways that may have therapeutic implications in future. Respiratory neurological compromise represents classical clinical manifestations leukostasis. If it diagnosed treated rapidly, one-week mortality rate approximately 40%.
