摘要: We construct a sample of numerical models for clusters galaxies and employ these to investigate their capability imaging background sources into long arcs. The are simulated within the CDM cosmogonic scheme in an Einstein‐de Sitter universe. Emphasis is laid on statistics arcs formed, optical depths arc formation determined. also compare results predictions based simplified, radially symmetric cluster models. find that numerically modeled produce increased by factor ≲50 compared softened isothermal spheres with same observable parameters (core radii velocity dispersions), they comparably efficient as singular dispersion.
