摘要: Abstract Purpose To describe the characteristics of patients with periprosthetic femoral fractures after hemiarthroplasty and to analyse their treatment. Materials methods An observational, longitudinal, retrospective study was conducted on a series 17 hip hemiarthroplasty. Fourteen were treated surgically. The patients, treatment outcomes in terms complications, mortality functionality analysed. Results large majority (82%) women; mean age 86 years an ASA index 3 or 4 15 patients. Ten type B. There 8 general one deep infection, mobilisation non-exchanged hemiarthroplasty, 2 non-unions. 85% consolidated fractures, only 5 recovered same function prior injury. At time 9 had died (53%).
