摘要: From Xanthomonas campestris pv. phaseoli, we have isolated by two independent methods genes involved in peroxide detoxification (ahpC and ahpF), a gene sensing transcription regulation (oxyR), of unknown function (orfX). Amino acid sequence analysis AhpC, AhpF, OxyR showed high identity with bacterial homologs. OrfX was small cysteine-rich protein no significant homology to known proteins. The ahpC, ahpF, oxyR, orfX were arranged head-to-tail fashion. This unique arrangement conserved all the strains tested. functionalities both ahpC oxyR demonstrated. In X. increased expression alone conferred partial protection against growth retardation killing organic hydroperoxides but not H2O2 or superoxide generators. These are likely important physiological roles toxicity Xanthomonas.
