摘要: Over the last decade, researchers have investigated nature and scope of mathematical knowledge for teaching (MKT) provided evidence that teachers’ MKT plays a critical role in effectiveness learning. This dissertation focuses on problem helping teachers develop MKT. Two goals shape research: (1) to specify tasks challenges involved (2) build about how organize curriculum The data sources are materials designed focus video recordings collected classrooms where teacher educators were working with materials. analysis not only educators, especially managing instruction as learners worked developing MKT, but also content education. study then combines findings from analytic literature review. Five central illustrated identify what might make difficult be helpful educators. Moreover, work mathematics specified by framework well identifying components education they fit within larger terrain Results contribute pedagogical considerations underlie design implementation teach this research expands into another place provides groundwork shared
